Yamaha, established in 1887, is a multinational corporation and conglomerate based in

Japan. They offer a wide range of products and services, predominately musical

instruments, motorcycles, power sports equipment, and electronics. The Sound

Network Division was put in place 15 years ago and has experienced tremendous

success with their router and karaoke systems.

In 2007, the router network technology and audio technology was combined to create

Yamaha’s first conferencing systems, the ProjectPhone line. Soon after development,

Yamaha decided to concentrate the product portfolio on web conferencing

technology. Today, the ProjectPhone product line has become the de facto standard

for web conferencing in Japan and they are now expanding these high quality systems

to the rest of the world.
